Certification in forestry is a voluntary process whereby a third party verifies sustainable practices. That means that the land provides not only a steady supply of forest products today and in the future, but also provides important habitat for fish & wildlife as well as clean air and clean water.
The two primary programs for forestry certification are the Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI) and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®).
Green Diamond’s Washington and Oregon timberlands are certified to be in compliance with the current Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Standard.
